Oldies but goodies

Exhibit A: Part of an inky collage experiment

Exhibit B: One of my first etchings! Bless!

Exhibit C: Drawing my dreams using the amazing power of scraffito! Who remembers doing that on bonfire night when you were a kid?

Exhibit D: More scraffito! This is a drawing of someone else's photography whose name I have conveniently forgotten so if you recognise it I'm not copying honest! I'll try and find out who it is.
P.s. Sorry about the bad quality mobile phone pictures, not so profesh.

Clint Eastwood goes to Persia

This is my dog Oscar. He is bow legged and his feet are very pointy like persian slippers. He also looks like a brillo pad. It's a prelimiary sketch for my very patient Dad's LONG, LONG awaited christmas present. There'll be one of Doris too. Hopefully he'll put it in his office. He better.

A drawing for Jeanne

We've been asked to make an A4 drawing to be given to one of our tutors upon her departure from the course. It has to portray something that we've learnt from her during her time here. She really helped me with my life drawing by using plotting, so I've drawn the above. I shall miss her, she's someone who is passionate about what she does. We need more of that.

Post the First

There's no real way of starting off a blog without sounding like a gigantic dweeb so I'll be as concise as possible:

Hello. My name is Rose Mitchell, I am a student at Camberwell College of Arts (BA Drawing) and this site is intended to shamelessly flaunt my wares.

I'm primarily a printmaker and draughtswoman. I mostly like printmaking becuase when I use the press I can pretend I'm like that lady out of flashdance and will spend the evening gyrating sexily around poles and whatnot. She makes welding look sexy, I figure I can do the same for print.

My main preoccupations as an artist tend to gravitate around psychology and anthropology. I'm also quite big on the old feminism and I do on occasion get my internal greer out for an airing. I know this can be distressing for some so will warn you prior to this.

I hope you enjoy my work!

Rose
